Oregon State freshman running back Ashton Jefferson broke a bone in his left foot and will not practice for the remainder of the year, the Gazette Times reported.

“I don’t think he’ll practice again this year,” coach Mike Riley said.

Jefferson is redshirting this season and is expected back for spring practice in April.

Ashton was the unanimous MVP of District 24 after rushing 1,565 yards and 14 touchdowns on 261 carrries (zero fumbles)...rushed for 200-plus yards three times as a senior...Brazoria County MVP....5A All-State Honorable Mention...per ESPN -- "Most productive as a one cut and go downhill runner. More of a slasher than a shifty in-line runner who can pick and slide through the small cut back creases.
